PRICE IS WHAT YOU PAY, VALUE IS WHAT YOU GET
One of Warren Buffett’s most famous quotes is:
Price is what you pay; value is what you get.
If you don’t know him, go and google Warren Buffet now!
Have you ever notices how when you go buy an old car there is always a big SALE sign on the windshield and immediately you can see the price but when you go to buy a brand new Mercedes or something even more expensive such as Ferrari there is no price to be found, not in car saloon and not on the website?
Why do you think that is?
Like this morning I was at the Ferrari website and guess what, there is no price of cars there.
Believe me, I looked.
Like I didn’t even know that Ferrari had clothing, and for that, you can find the price of the watch or a hat or a wallet, but a car price, NO!
On their website, they are showing some new car PORTOFINO
And they could easily write BUY THIS CAR FOR 300 000 or whatever the car is worth, but they didnt.
What they wrote was Every drive with the Ferrari Portofino is a voyage of (re)discovery.
See the difference?
Between Buy it for xxx or Every drive with the Ferrari Portofino is a voyage of (re)discovery.
That is also a great example of storytelling that I wrote in some of my previous posts.
They were selling VALUE and not the price
Ferrari knows that whoever will buy the Portofino it will not buy it online, it will come and see it, feel it, drive it first.
Because Ferrari represents a lifestyle, not just the price, it’s the value of I MADE IT I CAN AFFORD IT and I doubt that people who are buying cars like that are even thinking about price.
You know, nobody comes to the Ferrari store and said “You know the Nissan is cheaper” haha
Comunicate VALUE and not PRICE
The difference between the two is PERCEPTION
Think of your purchasing habits and decisions.
Did you buy that last watch or shoes because of the price or because of the value you get from it?
And if you are lucky to find something that has a great price and brings great value, BUY IT 😀
Have a great day!
